Overview

Neptune Coring, a Division of Lafarge Canada, is a leader in the trenchless construction industry providing services to major underground construction companies within Edmonton and surrounding areas.

We are currently looking for an Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Working in a physically demanding environment in the shop / yard as well as various job sites in and out of Edmonton.
  • Assisting with inspections, repairs and general maintenance of heavy trucks, trailers and equipment including electrical, hydraulics, transmissions, drive trains, power take offs, fuel injection and exhaust systems.
  • Preventative maintenance services for all mobile equipment.
  • Ordering and picking up parts.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision.
  • Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Education

    A valid Apprentice ticket is required.

    Competencies

  • Candidates must be reliable, have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Successful candidates must have a valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
  • The working environment is indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Candidates must also be able to work overtime, weekends and holidays as necessary.
  • Out of town work may be necessary for short durations.
  • As part of our dedicated focus on the health and safety of all employees, a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing and a criminal record check, may be required.
