Aurora Cannabis is looking for a Manager of the Project Management Office to join our Information Services team in the fast-paced cannabis industry.
The successful applicant will be responsible for the Information Services Project Management Office and accountable for project governance across all IS projects.
This includes but not limited to tracking status of deliverables and milestones, tracking adherence to the System Development Life Cycle, monitoring the status of projects, coordinating project reporting, and assisting project managers as required.
The ideal candidate for this position is detail oriented and highly innovative and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment. RESPONSIBILITIES :
Implement governance standards across the portfolio, including tracking, monitoring and updating the status of project deliverables
Attend Post Project Review meetings to identify key areas of improvement
Build up a repository of project templates both technical and management to support the Project Managers
Continue to evolve the processes and templates of the System Development Life Cycle
Implement project standards across all projects in the portfolio
Ownership and management of all PMO processes and procedures
Prepare project level reporting
Prepare consolidated material from project reports for monthly review
Complete and distribute monthly portfolio level reports
Provide project support as required
Administering cost management processes, including Accounts Payable and updates to forecasts.
Ensuring project deliverables and artifacts are added to the document repository.
SKILLS REQUIRED :
Strong leadership and communication skills.
Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, Project and Outlook.
Knowledge of SmartSheet and SharePoint.
Ability to work against tight deadlines.
Experience of working within a structured project management framework.
Knowledge of project management tools and techniques.
Very good prioritization skills to balance key priorities.
A strong customer centric approach.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in business or related field of study preferred.
5+ years experience managing a PMO.
8+ years project management experience
Experience with projects involving multi-disciplinary teams operating in a fast-paced, innovation driven environment.
Knowledge of the emerging cannabis industry would be considered an asset.
