Reporting to the Senior Clinical Director and working in partnership with the BMT Program Quality Directors the Quality Coordinator will promote a culture of quality and standards of excellence for the Blood and Marrow Transplant (BMT) recipient, donor and their families.
In collaboration with key BMT Program stakeholders (Allogeneic / Autologous Medical Directors, Stem Cell Lab Director, Nurse Managers, Coordinators, staff etc.
the QM will be required to promote changes to improve quality and patient safety throughout the BMT program. In addition, the Quality Coordinator is responsible for oversight related to BMT quality requirements and compliance as required by various regulatory agencies including Health Canada, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), and the Centre for International Blood and Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) for the purposes of seeking and maintaining accreditation.
and lead, conduct or monitor as assigned quality and patient safety audits to provide data in line with reporting requirements and lead or participate in the review of non-compliance issues for the purpose of providing recommendations for system learning and improvement.
The Quality Coordinator will work with key program leaders to support and participate in the implementation of the Information system for the BMT program and work with both the program clinical management and UHN risk management teams to ensure alignment of the BMT quality strategy with the UHN quality and risk management strategy, programs and policies in order support and align the organization’s quality and safety mandates.
