East Kootenay Regional Hospital in Cranbrook is a 77 bed regional referral centre, serving a catchment area of approximately 80,000 people in the East Kootenays.
The 4 floor facility offers 24 / 7 emergency services with 16 beds, a brand new state of the art 6 bed ICU, a full range of medical and surgical services including Internal Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Ophthalmology, ENT, Pathology, Psychiatry and Radiology and Urology.

The East Kootenay Regional Hospital, located at the foot of the Rockies in beautiful Cranbrook, BC, is seeking a General Pathologist (AP / CP) or Anatomical Pathologist with additional training in hematopathology to complete our 4.
0 FTE pathology team. Our group performs approximately 10,000 inpatient and outpatient surgical cases and 10-15 hospital autopsies per year, as well as non-
gynecological cytopathology, frozen sections, and bone marrow biopsies. There is also an opportunity to perform coroner’s autopsies if interested.
We have active hematology, transfusion medicine, and medical biochemistry services (with lesser involvement in microbiology), and provide medical leadership for all of the Interior Health laboratories in the East Kootenay region.
No evening or weekend call is required. The vibrant, dedicated technical and support staff and engaging relationships shared with our clinical colleagues make for an exceptional work environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong skills in surgical pathology, laboratory diagnostics, and will be comfortable evaluating bone marrow biopsies and peripheral smears.
Working well within an independent practice in a small group environment. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to forge strong working relationships with the hospital and laboratory staff are also imperative.
