Based in Toronto, Anatolia Tile & Stone is a privately owned 100% Canadian corporation that is growing rapidly. Currently we are looking for an eager, motivated Forklift Mechanic to join our team.

Position Summary

This position is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, repairing Forklifts / Lift and other equipment within Anatolia Tile Stone’s distribution centers, in addition to performing other maintenance duties as required.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of the facility and all equipment within the facility
  • Perform minor and major repairs and scheduled preventive maintenance on Forklifts / Lift Trucks (including electric and internal combustion powered units).
  • Inspecting and testing mechanical parts, motors, engines on forklifts
  • Adjusting, troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment failures
  • Assembling hydraulic components.
  • Maintaining records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • Operating computers which control and monitor mechanical equipment.
  • Responding to emergency maintenance requests as required.
  • Performing assignments in general maintenance, as : changing batteries in the industrial lift equipment or building maintenance duties, housekeeping, filing, and other general duties at our Distribution Centres.
  • Timely and through completion of equipment preventive maintenance (PM) will be a daily requirement and will include but are not limited to repair of forklifts, associated material handling equipment as well as general maintenance of the DC.
  • Promptly identify and troubleshoot equipment and facility problems to eliminate root cause.
  • Detect / identify safety hazards and plan / organize smart solutions.
  • Perform service ranging from basic to advanced repairs and overhauls on all equipment.
  • Demonstrate familiarity with and / or experience with Building Management Systems.
  • Ability to learn and use a CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) in SAP.
  • Track parts usage and maintain stock of spare parts.
  • Perform equipment diagnostics / repairs of motor control systems, forklifts, scanners, and Building Systems.
  • The incumbent will provide their own basic tools of the trade and safety shoes.
  • Safety awareness is key and must adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Providing a high level of customer service and communication with speed, accuracy, and integrity.
  • Participating in and ensuring a safe and organized work environment.
  • Ensuring all site maintenance calls are left in a clean and respectable manner.
  • Qualifications

  • Technical certification(s) preferred in the capacity of maintenance mechanic / forklift mechanic or other trade as applicable.
  • 2-3 years trades experience as a in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferable.
  • Moderate to Advanced mechanical and electrical aptitude with proven skills through formal and informal training, as well as experience required
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic skills, work with hand and power tools.
  • Familiarity with distribution center technology and process flow is an asset.
  • Flexibility to work on various shifts and weekends on occasion is required.
  • Previous computer experience; experience with preventative maintenance systems is an asset.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop project plans, organize and execute projects
  • Capable of perform major equipment repairs using a variety of tools and available resources
  • Comfortable providing technical training to colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently, lead or work as part of a team
  • Should be comfortable lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle to travel between distribution centers on occasion.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the operation and utilization of various Test & Metering equipment required.
  • Ability to gain forklift / scissor lifts certification required.
  • Must present professional demeanor and appearance at all times.
