Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer is responsible for supporting Materials initiatives and acquiring the best total value in the acquisition of materials and services to meet the ongoing needs of user departments.

To be successful we are looking for someone with excellent negotiating, problem solving, and decision-making abilities, who is self-motivated and capable of working with minimal direction.

Someone with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who can build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external partners.

Someone who is able to multi-task and prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational abilities.

You will have the opportunity to implement procedural improvements to streamline business practices and be instrumental in the successful execution of contracts.

You will also have the ability to interact with both operations and support and contract groups throughout our company, gaining knowledge of our mining business.

Responsibilities :

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
  • Ensure the timely and cost effective supply of materials and services
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions while maintaining vendor relationships
  • Manage procurement processes from inception to conclusion
  • Research and provide information to department supervisors concerning new products and services
  • Contribute to the design, development, and training of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system enhancements
  • Qualifications :

  • Diploma, degree, certificate, or designation in a supply chain management program, or other relevant subject area
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience
  • Good understanding of inventory, contract structures, and terms and conditions
  • Excellent digital literacy and experience with the Microsoft Office Suite® and ERP systems
