Great opportunity for someone eager to work with a reputable and well-established not-for-profit organization that cares for people in need.

We are ideally seeking a designated accountant with several years management-level experience who has worked previously in the healthcare sector.

Who- the Company : Our client is an not-for-profit organization in the healthcare sector. The company has a history of over 40 years and is well-regarded as an NPO that provides great care and service to individuals in need.

What- the Role : The organization is seeking a new Manager of Finance who will report into the CEO and lead the NPO’s accounting & finance team (2 direct reports).

The Manager of Finance will be joining a team of approximately 10 people on the corporate & administration team, and an overall team of 150+ employees.

This will likely be a term employee contract to start- exact timeline will be determined before an offer is made, but likely 9 months to 1 year.

Our client is ideally seeking a Manager who will work full-time hours, but they are open to considering qualified individuals who would prefer a reduced work schedule.

What- the Responsibilities :

  • Lead the day-to-day accounting & finance function.
  • Supervise Payroll
  • Supervise AP and AR
  • Develop and maintain systems, processes, and procedures.
  • Responsible for reporting including period end reporting, annual reporting, governmental reporting, and ad hoc internal reporting.
  • Hands-on management of cash flow estimates, forecasts, budgets, banking, and tax returns.
  • Review major contracts and aid with contracts negotiation.
  • Provide decision support and business guidance to the Executive team.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.
  • Who- the Candidate : We are looking for a well-rounded accounting professional who has experience overseeing and managing the accounting & finance function of a small company and who has previously led 1-3 direct reports.

    Experience in the healthcare sector is highly preferred. Experience with a not-for-profit (NPO) organization is also an asset.

    CPA accounting designation (or International equivalent) is highly preferred.

    Where : Located in Burnaby, BC, close to Metrotown. There may be opportunity to work from home on occasion, but as of late May the corporate staff will for the most part be back to working full-time in the office.

    Proper protocol is in place to ensure a safe and sanitized work environment for all staff, and the Manager of Finance will have their own private office.

    How Much : Base salary or hourly contracting rate commensurate with level of experience and skills- please discuss further with Swim!
