We’re looking for a Senior Quality & Compliance Manager to run our quality program that delivers an optimal experience to customers.
You will develop strategy and frameworks to inform an international team on how to maintain our industry-leading low defect rates and superior customer satisfaction.
Who is the Quality & Compliance team? Our team sets the framework and standards for our furniture quality and compliance at Article.
We work closely with our sourcing partners in the field to provide support and training on how to ensure our products meet Article standards.
We are in a state of continuous improvement that involves working with our vendor partners to mitigate all issues.
What you’ll be doing
Hire and develop a growing team to execute on quality requirements both in HQ and internationally.
Continue to evolve the quality and compliance strategy to meet the added complexities of global sourcing, increasing vendors, and multi sourcing initiatives
Be customer obsessed and improve every possible aspect of the customer experience related to quality, assembly, packaging, and parts replacement
Continue to develop and maintain quality standards for product quality and compliance and weave them earlier into the product development process
Decrease Article’s already low quality defect rate of 1.2%
Ensure compliance requirements for all vendors and products are clearly defined. All products must meet regulatory and legal requirements without exception.
Oversee and develop a process for random product inspections and inspection criteria
Oversee the factory audit system and process for all new vendors
Oversee all customer reported product defects, claim process with vendor, and recovery of credit owed to Article
Support and oversee recalls and quarantines
Work around multiple time zones to accommodate international vendors (PST 5-8pm typically 2 days a week)
International travel as required to visit vendors, sourcing offices and HQ
Collaborate with cross-functional team members and key stakeholders such as Development, Sourcing, and Sourcing Operations to build and update processes
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
5+ years of experience in quality & compliance in an overseas manufacturing supply chain
Strong background managing a large team with multiple direct reports
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate across diverse multi-functional teams
Desire to always question, not only how can we do better, but how can we do remarkably better
Flexible working hours to accommodate multiple time zones (PST 5-8pm typically 2 days a week)
Strong sense of initiative and sense bias for action
Putting the customer at the heart of all decisions and actions
Exceptional people skills, and team leadership skills.
Demonstrated strategy development, project execution, systems and business case development.

This position will work remotely, with some travel to Vancouver, Canada for training.

Our office and warehouse space has grown from under 15,000 sq ft to over 1,200,000 sq ft, and our yearly revenue has grown to match.
