Reporting to the Clinical Manager, Outpatient Mental Health and Addictions, the Program Therapist is responsible for the provision of an array of mental health services to individuals and groups with mental health issues, with a focus in the Eating Disorder Program for Adults.
A registered health professional with a Masters degree in social work, psychology or equivalent with at least 5 years’ eevidence-
based and / or manualized individual and group therapy in a mental health setting
Experience in providing group and individual therapy to clients with Eating Disorders
Familiarity with a trauma-informed care approach, and experience in providing trauma-based interventions
Knowledge of psychosocial rehabilitation principals
Demonstrates high level of skills and ability to negotiate and communicate with clients, their families other service providers and members of the community
Evidence of excellent communication, interpersonal and psychotherapeutic skills
Working knowledge of the Mental Health Act, privacy legislation
Evidence of ongoing continuing education courses in Mental health or related fields
Training and / or certification in the following : DBT CBT EFT IPT MI
Currently registered with the appropriate and related Regulated Health professional College of Ontario
Successful completion of a criminal reference review
CPR and First Aid Certification required
Receptiveness and commitment to work in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Ability to work collegially and collaboratively.
Good time management skills.
Strong communication skills.
Willingness and flexibility to manage a varied work assignment and rotations in different roles.
Demonstrated ability to maintain a good attendance record and meet the performance standards of the Health Centre.
