Job Description & Summary
A career in our Merger and Acquisition Tax practice, within Tax services, will provide you with the opportunity to help our clients meet and manage their tax obligations across unique but ever changing tax specialties.
You’ll advise clients on their local and overseas tax affairs, while acting as a strategic consultant related to business analysis and M&A tax solutions.
Our team helps our clients with various aspects of merger and acquisition transactions such as transaction structuring, tax due diligence, internal reorganizations, and post acquisition integration.
As part of our team, you’ll have opportunities to assist with assessing historical tax risks of potential targets, analyzing proposed transactions for unusual tax risks or undetermined tax benefits, advising clients on tax-efficient restructurings, and performing financial analysis / modelling to assess the tax consequences of specific transactions.
This role has the option of being based out of our Vancouver, Toronto, or Montreal offices.
What you’ll create and do :
As a Senior Associate, you'll work as part of a team of problem solvers, helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to :
Use feedback and reflection to develop self awareness, personal strengths and address development areas

Use a broad range of tools and techniques to extract insights from current industry or sector trends

What you’ll bring to this role
Ability to work in a multitasked, fast-paced and changing environment

Superior communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team environment
Experience in corporate tax research, consulting and compliance in a professional services firm, industry, government agency or law firm is an asset
