Length : 6 months contract to start, likely renew for another 6 months
Develops, configures, pilots, remediates and deploys of virtual technical solutions (virtualization platforms, VDI, application delivery) required to successfully run applications in a Windows 10, thin client and virtual desktop environment.
Assists with the development, configuration, piloting and implementation of an expanded solution to deploy applications in Win 10 / virtual desktop
Collaborates with the team and other external resources to ensure end-to-end delivery of integrated virtual solutions to the client.
Works with the business and support teams to understand clinical and application requirements and disseminate these requirements to technical solution teams.
Documents all technical solution architecture according to industry and existing health authority standards.
Leads the identification, analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues arising from implemented solutions including conducting root cause analysis and identifying alternate technical solutions to meet defined clinical and business needs.
Leads the definition of resolution strategies and technical solutions for problematic applications.
Ensures solutions are technically robust, financially sustainable and aligned to the corporation
Proves solution feasibility leveraging business cases, requirements artifacts, use cases and integrated testing practices.
Supports the development of post implementation support models including the development of production turnover documentation, training materials and standard operating procedures.
Obtains client and technical partner sign off on proposed solutions and technical recommendations.
Works closely with the Win 10 Readiness team to understand and assess Windows 10 SAC requirements, GPOs, grouping, security settings and various application-specific requirements.
Provides technical solution support to the Application Team to enable application intake, testing, remediation, packaging, and deployment.
Produces comprehensive reports including strategies for optimization.
Supports, as required project and operational change management activities
Works closely with the Windows 10 Readiness & Sustainment (R&S),
Supports end-to-end testing of proposed solutions.
Contributes in the development of use cases, test scripts and testing plans.
Engages clients and delivery partners to assist in planning and scheduling testing activities.
Supports the on-call rotation (24 / 7).
A degree / diploma in Computer Science or a related field (or an equivalent level of education, training and experience).
Demonstrable experience with Virtualization, VDI, Thin Client, Citrix, VMWare, Windows 10 and Windows 7.
Exceptional technical documentation and presentation skills.
Outstanding ability to translate and express technical problems, outcomes and benefits and present findings concisely, clearly and effectively.
Familiarity with software packaging process, application / desktop virtualization and software distribution.
Experience with Group Policy and Active Directory design at an enterprise level.
Experience in comprehensive integrated desktop management including mandatory profiles, login scripts, digital certificates deliveries, network drive mapping, printer mapping, white lists, exceptions creation, generic accounts, enterprise test lab and software patching.
Experience with output, device management, and peripheral connectivity
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills including the ability to effectively facilitate discussions with a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and within a team as required.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
High proficiency with MS Office toolsets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Strong organizational and time management skills.
