Accountant / Bookkeeper opportunity at a growing, professional interior design company that has branches across Western Canada.
The Role :
The Accountant / Bookkeeper plays an important role at the organization, maintaining the financial records of the company by accurately recording day-
to-day accounting transactions.
Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the executive team and Finance department, the accountant / bookkeeper is responsible for processing Payroll & Benefits, Accounts Payable, and Financial reporting.
Responsibilities include :
Processing invoices, and receipts
Allocate and post financial transaction details to QuickBooks
Reconcile and balance all accounts
Prepare month-end and year-end data for completion of financial statements by company Accounting firm
Compile Internal financial reports
Track and maintain purchase and sales records of inventory
Collaborate with Accounts Receivable / Purchasing
Prepare cheques, payments and bank deposits
Payroll through our provider, Payworks
Manage employee benefits including GRSP / DPSP program
Determine and prepare GST and PST tax payments
Administer WorkSafeBC and WCB Alberta reporting
Preparation of yearly budget
Support with annual review (audits) performed by our Accounting firm
Maintain complete filing system to support financial records
Education & Experience
Previous recent bookkeeping experience
Experience of Canadian accounting standards for private enterprises (ASPE)
Proficiency in relevant computer applications - Microsoft Office, Excel, Quickbooks
Knowledge of data management and financial data analysis
University educated in accounting, finance or business an advantage
Bookkeeping certification an asset
Car needed to access Vancouver / Burnaby boarder location, free parking
