OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Modelling 3D building system that correct for mistakes in consultant drawings, with QAQC steps for the at least one of disciplines;
  • systems must relevant meet code requirements and must be installable with maximum efficiency and minimize material / labour costs

  • Issuing complete paper / pdf drawings are to site team, with QAQC steps
  • Makes copies of drawings and maintains information regarding changes to database
  • Assists to bring profitability and competitive advantage to Modern Niagara with VDC technologies, ensures delivery dates are met
  • Oversees Fittings Libraries and reports incorrect fittings to the VDC Manager
  • Makes final sketch of proposed drawings, checking dimensions, materials to be used, relation of one part to another, and relation of various parts to whole structure or project
  • Sketches rough layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverages, and location of holes
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure designs are developed to support overall program timing
  • Other duties as requested
  • QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE :

  • Education Required : Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from an Accredited Canadian University OR 3rd year or higher completion of accredited trade apprenticeship.
  • Experience in reading and interpreting construction drawings and documents.
  • Experience in the construction industry, or industry trade.
  • Strong computer skills with hands-on working knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Artistic Minimum : clearly sketch isometric piping.
  • Average to strong written & verbal English.
  • Consideration given for : AutoCAD, Navisworks, Google sketchup, REVIT, other 3D systems.
  • Problem solving in an engineering / manufacturing / construction environment using any design tools.
  • Ability to work in an office and field environment and maintain excellent working relationships with others.
  • Team player, energetic, resourceful.
  • Willingness to commit to continuous learning.
  • Well organized with an ability to pay attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to develop effective working relationships with employees at all levels.
  • Sense of urgency and drive to succeed, must be comfortable working within a deadline driven, fast paced environment.
  • Resourceful, energetic and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • NOTE : Should you be shortlisted for this role prior to the interview stage, you will be required to submit a portfolio of either modelling (REVIT / AutoCAD / sketchup etc) work, plumbing / installation photos, or artistic work for the panel's assessment of your spatial intelligence / skill level.
