Position Purpose

Coordinates operations for second language intensive programs and courses. Serves as the chief resource person for teachers, teaching assistants, university colleagues, international partners, embassies and sponsors, ensuring efficient and effective services for international and domestic students enrolled in non-

credit ESL and FLS programs and courses.

Essential Qualifications

Postsecondary degree in administration or a related field, or equivalent experience

Excellent knowledge of postsecondary administrative processes, services, faculties and programs

Experience in operations in an educational setting

Experience using computer systems and software such as student information systems, Windows, word processors, databases, spreadsheets, email and the internet

Experience interpreting and applying policies and procedures

Experience working with confidential information and protecting it

Experience working with new Canadians and international students

Experience in providing customer service as a resource person

Sound judgment and cultural sensitivity

Ability to analyze and solve problems and to recommend improvements to program services

Ability to work under pressure, multitask, set priorities and organize schedules to meet firm deadlines

Ability to work in a team environment and to develop and maintain constructive, cooperative working relationships with others

Flexibility and willingness to take on additional duties as necessary from time to time

Bilingualism English / French (spoken and written)
