Serves as a key technical resource in supporting the local Sales organization and contributing to DCS service sales. In this role, the specialist is responsible for definition of technical solutions including new offerings identification of technology evolution / upgrade targets within the installed base, implementation of local automation-related sales campaigns and proactive technical sales support in the assigned Region.

Report to Local Product Group Manager for Automation Service business area.

Your responsibilities

  • Utilize ABB installed base / market analysis tools and analyze data to define market and identify control system evolution / upgrade targets for the sales team and channels
  • Consult clients, explore and engage to gain understanding of their needs and how to address using ABB technology portfolio including digital advanced services
  • Using expertise in legacy DCS and new ABB DCS technology, define most advantageous upgrade or evolution paths, propose enhancements and turn into winning technical proposals
  • Prepare and present technical presentations and solution offers
  • Offer consultancy and handle technical control system-related inquiries for customers and channels
  • Create product demonstrations utilizing various products and solutions
  • Champion key service initiatives for DCS upgrades / migration and parts fingerprint by executing and driving actions, measuring and reporting results and regular follow-up with Sales to meet targets
  • Create loyalty offers, technology case studies and product-related communications
  • Your background

  • Engineering degree in Electrical, Software or Automation field
  • Minimum 7 years of hands-on experience with industrial controls / DCS or PLC programming and configuration
  • High technical aptitude and strong interest to learn new technologies
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with ABB DCS systems (800xA, Harmony / Symphony+) upgrade projects, technology migrations and evolutions
  • Minimum 3 years is technical sales support, technical proposals or advanced services sales support (digital services, software sales)
  • Experience working with and supporting Technical Sales Reps and Account Managers
  • Confident in technical areas
  • Demonstrated creative thinking skills and ability
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proven collaborative, solutions-oriented approach and strong communication skills.
  • Bi-lingual (English and French) strongly desired
