The Tech Developer creates and delivers brand relevant technologies to the brand. This position plays a critical role in engineering consumer centric, innovative and relevant solutions.
It requires mechanical and structural development through rapid iteration for helmets and protective shells.
You will identify opportunities to elevate our product offering. You'll be an expert in Apparel Tech Development design and engineering, understanding the whole value chain.
You'll be communicative, collaborative, creative and hands-on.
YOUR KEY RESPONSABILITIES
Manage a variety of technical apparel & sportswear design projects within structured timelines and multiple, parallel, development calendars
Tech pack creation sketches, details, garment construction, trims, fabrics, graphic application, labels, packaging, and BRP garment standards
Maintain and update technical packages and garments standards with the latest information throughout the development cycle.
Conduct live fittings internally and communicate subsequent fit comments with spec measurements and instructions to the supplier.
Execute concept testing and prototype building to quickly iterate on ideas; fail fast and learn faster. Evaluate, analyze & measure sample / proto materials to ensure accuracy when compared to technical package, quality of execution, and attainment of target costs.
Conducts critical analysis of existing garments / fabrics to engineer new solutions.
Evaluate, analyze & measure sample / proto garments to ensure accuracy when compared to technical package, quality of execution, and attainment of target costs.
Enter technical, coloration and customs information into database
Collaborate with design team, pattern maker, purchasing team and product manager to achieve departmental objectives
Interprets data / test results and develops action plans.
Works on multiple project schedule coordination and tracking within a fast paced product development environment.
Works collaboratively across divisions to make sure everyone is aligned.
Communicate with overseas makers daily.
Other duties and responsibilities as required.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
A minimum of 3 years’ experience of experience in a similar role, with focus on creative problem solving for consumer products.
College Degree, Diploma in Engineering, Fashion design or related field.
Knowledge of materials, fabrics and garment construction, fitting and specifications, applied graphic processes and fashion / technogear lifecycle.
Experience in technical clothing, with knowledge of materials / fabric construction and plastics processing.
Excellent attention to detail, good logic and time management skills
Wide experience using rapid / additive prototyping methods and testing user feedback
Excellent knowledge of Illustrator is a must; InDesign a strong asset; Excel, PPT and Word expected.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
E-Pattern making knowledge on PAD is an asset.
