Reporting to the Director, Corporate Accounting & Systems and working with our global Husky Finance teams, the Corporate Finance Manager plays a critical role in the timely, accurate preparation and review of our holding company, elimination company and consolidated USGAAP financial statements.

The purpose of the role is to ensure timely and accurate external financial reporting for the consolidated Husky group that is compliant with appropriate accounting standards and meets all externally imposed timelines in an efficient and effective manner.

It is also to provide leadership on the consolidated financial statement note disclosures and financial reporting used for bank covenants and parent company reporting.

Key Responsibilities / Areas of Accountability :

  • External consolidated financial reporting, including consolidated financial statements (quarterly and annually), audit committee reporting, and reporting to other stakeholders as required (sponsors, lenders, etc.).
  • Co-ordination and execution of global close process including monthly, quarterly and annual close times, co-ordination with external auditors
  • Accounting for the holding and consolidation companies included in the consolidation resulting from acquisitions
  • Preparing holding company and consolidated statutory financial statements and approval within designated thresholds
  • Ad hoc queries relating to financial analysis supporting the accuracy of the consolidated financial statementsPlan the global financial close process including timelines and close calendar
  • Manage the global consolidation of Husky’s financial results in accordance with US GAAP (or the Company’s consolidated standard) including intercompany profit elimination, intercompany balancing, equity transactions and foregin exchange analysis
  • Manage and direct the preparation of the consolidated financial statements and related audit committee reporting on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis as required and within required timelines.
  • Coordinate with the FP&A team to ensure a fulsome and accurate MD&A report
  • Support the evaluation of recommendations for accounting policies and procedures to be compliant with US GAAP.Review, provide guidance and training to Corporate finance team on accounting policies and procedures, complex accounting matters, and material events.
  • Maintain appropriate internal controls over financial reporting for the consolidation process.
  • Liase with Husky’s ownership group on all reporting, technical accounting and portco requirements
  • Anticipate and communicate any concerns or known errors on a timely manner
  • Technical / Professional Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Strong technical accounting skills under US GAAP and / or IFRS as it relates to complex accounting areas, consolidations and internal controls
  • Ability to successfully meet deadlines and objectives in a fast-paced environment i.e. ability to multi-task
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to utilize financial systems and consolidation systems
  • A proactive individual who is highly motivated, energetic and driven by continuous process improvements will likely thrive in this role
  • Qualifications : Education


  • University education in Business, Accounting or equivalent
  • CPA designation
  • Related Experience

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience
  • Microsoft AX Dynamics and OneStream would be a definite asset
