Summary of Responsibilities :

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Fairmont Gold responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following :

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
  • Provide excellence in guest service, always responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner with the ability to think outside the box
  • Ensure food and beverage standards are adhered to on a daily basis while continually raising the bar of service excellence
  • Monitor the quality and presentation of food throughout the service
  • Clear and reset lounge tables
  • Assemble the honor bar and beverage area
  • Ensure the cleanliness of the lounge for our guests
  • Keep the pantry area clean and organized
  • Develop and maintain strong guest relationships to ensure Fairmont Gold loyalty Ability to work without Assistant Manager, and on your feet for 8 hours a day
  • Ability to work flexible shift work including weekends, mornings, and evenings
  • Support Assistant Manager to complete daily tasks
  • Review weekly schedule and occupancy levels to set the team for success
  • Ensure constructive communication between the lounge and culinary teams
  • Follow department policies, procedures and service standards
  • Follow all safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Qualifications :

  • Previous food and beverage experience preferred
  • Previous guest service experience in a luxury hotel
  • Diploma in Hospitality Management an asset
  • Experience with cash handling and appropriate telephone etiquette
  • Experience with decision making and problem solving
  • First aid certification an asset
  • Pro-Serve certification
  • Must possess a professional presentation
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
  • Highly responsible & reliable
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

    Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following :

  • Frequent standing and walking throughout shift
  • Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
  • Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
