Job Overview : Best Service Pros is looking for an Environmental Coordinator to implement sustainability-friendly programs, oversee environmental health and safety audits for the assigned site across Ontario.

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual who works both independently and with a team to achieve environmental program initiatives and ensures compliance to related policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Assist in the coordination of environmental projects and ensure deliverables are on schedule and provide overall support to the Sustainability Manager.
  • Act as a liaison between site and client managers on all sustainability related projects.
  • Conduct spot waste audits monthly on various sites and create reports and plan of action based on results and track progress.
  • Assist clients with complying to Ontario Regulations
  • Present to potential clients during RFP process
  • Monitor field work to ensure compliance with company standards, procedures, and codes.
  • Monitor, advise and train internal and external staff on environmental issues and programs.
  • Oversee recycling efforts, and train custodial staff on sorting waste.
  • Review and critique on individual site contractors’ sustainability plan and progress.
  • Travel between sites to ensure compliance requirements are being adhered to.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and report on environmental initiatives.
  • Oversee the annual waste audit and work with environmental organizations.
  • Work closely and attend meetings with the Sustainability Committee on site.
  • Other duties as required per business needs.
  • Knowledge and Skills Required :

  • Environmental Science or related diploma or degree.
  • 1-2 years' experience in related experience is considered an asset
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Intermediate computer and smart phone knowledge with experience using MS Office programs.
  • Ability to effectively analyze, plan, organize, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • Multilingual ability considered an asset.
  • Valid driver’s license in Ontario.
  • All potential candidates must pass security and criminal record checks.
