The Opportunity

Reporting to the Agriculture Coordinator, Outdoor Cannabis, the Equipment Operator for Outdoor Cannabis will be responsible for operating field, post-

harvest handling equipment (combine, tractor, harvesters, transfer elevators etc.) Broad range of additional farm operation related activities. Expect outdoor work.

Responsibilities

  • Inspecting vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues.
  • Farm equipment operations.
  • Operations of tractors of 100 + HP.
  • Field preparation and conditioning.
  • Transfer of crop trailers from fields to farm stations.
  • Elevator operation for crop transfer into storage.
  • Loading and unloading of crop materials.
  • Assisting with post-harvest crop handling operations.
  • Documented daily equipment safety checks.
  • Must be able to work a variable to different shifts.
  • Ability to organize / prioritize workload.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, reach with arms and hands, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Ability to work in a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant area wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as Tyvek coverall, goggles.
  • Experience

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in related fields including agriculture.
  • Experience in food crop harvest operations.
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license.
  • Class 1 driver’s license is an asset.
  • WHMIS training and general Health and Safety protocols.
  • Proven experience of safe farm equipment operation.
  • Formal, documented farm equipment training preferred.
  • Safe and dependable work ethic.
  • Other Details

    Hours may require shift work and long days and will be weather dependent.

    This is a seasonal position based out of Hagen, Saskatchewan.
