Education Coordinator, Fellowship Program - Division of Neurology

The Division of Neurology is looking for an energetic person to manage the educational administrative duties related to fellows in neurology training programs at the University of Toronto.

This is a full-time position based out of Sunnybrook. However, the Fellowship Education Coordinator manages trainees in the Division of Neurology at all UofT teaching sites.

General Duties and Responsibilities

  • Processing incoming fellowship applications. This includes liaising with prospective fellows, faculty supervisors, and the Department of Medicine.
  • Maintaining up-to-date files for each fellow
  • Managing evaluations for current fellows. This includes the Pre-Entry Assessment Program (PEAP) for fellows with prior training outside of Canada.
  • Maintenance of fellowship listings in the divisional website
  • Processing applications from faculty interested in developing new fellowship training programs
  • Attending regular divisional education meetings
  • Assistance with some aspects of the Adult Neurology Residency training program at UofT.
  • With the above, always maintaining ongoing positive professional communication with staff (doctors, fellows, residents, students, co-workers and research staff).

    The Fellowship Education Coordinator will report directly to the Fellowship Program Director in the Division of Neurology.

    Assets and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree in arts or Science preferred
  • Experience working in a teaching hospital environment as education coordinator would be an asset
  • Experience with Faculty of Medicine, U of T staff, faculty and procedures is an asset
  • Excellent organizational, communication (verbal and written), decision-making / problem-solving skills, and interpersonal competence are essential
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and be self-motivated in a busy environment
  • Familiarity with Windows-based software is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure
  • Ability to effectively handle confidential matters and material
