The Legal Assistant will provide administrative support to Magna Corporate's Legal Department
Highly organized administrative assistant to provide daily support and administrative duties to multiple lawyers, including : document preparation and revision;
printing / scanning / copying; file maintenance; scheduling meetings; processing expense reports etc.
Electronic and physical file organization / maintenance
Assistance with lawyers' travel arrangements and expense reports
Interaction with others in Finance, Tax, HR, and other departments
Other projects as assigned by supervising lawyers
Key Qualifications / Requirements
Knowledge and Education :
Completion of a community college diploma / certificate
Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Work Experience :
3-5 years of experience as an assistant, preferably in a professional services environment (i.e. law, accounting, consulting, etc.)
Skills and Competencies :
Familiarity with legal concepts, issues, and terminology
Experience in drafting and modifying a variety of simple and complex legal business documentation
Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to exchange straightforward information requiring little decision (Internal & External)
Occasionally uses negotiation and influencing (Internal & External)
Ability to make decisions according to established policies and procedures
Ability to provide data on financial matters
Strong communication, problem solving and decision making skills
Demonstrated ability to work and adapt in a team based environment
A high level of passion, self-awareness and integrity are required
Strong sense of professionalism, discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive matters
Ability to multi-task / handle multiple demands on a regular basis
Frequently exchanges information and / or answers routine, straightforward questions (Internal & External)
