Job Title : Accounts Payable Team Lead

Salary : $22-26 / Hr.
Job Responsibilities :
Oversee the daily activity of AP Coordinators and report to Accounting Supervisor on all matters related to AP transactions, reports and analytics.
Provide leadership, training and technical support to AP Coordinators and act as an AP backup coverage for vacations;
Review the work of the AP Coordinators before being submitted to the next level;
Calculate, prepare and issue documents related to accounts such as bills, invoices, inventory receiving reports, account statements and other AP worksheets using computerized and manual systems.
Code, total, batch, enter, verify and reconcile transactions such as purchase orders, checks, invoices, & check requisitions as well as vendors’ SOA-s (Statement of Accounts).
Prepare of month end accrual and reversal journal entries, month end lead sheets, and corrections and adjustments.
Prepare wire transfers, daily bank and deposit reports and weekly cheque runs.
Process weekly payment application for cash flow report.
Verify compliance to company policies on posting employee expense reports.
Prepare the supporting documents for Supply Chain for 3-rd party shipments and support Operations.
Respond to vendors and internal customers inquiries, maintain good customer relations and solve problems.
Perform related clerical duties, such as word processing, maintaining filing and record systems, scanning, faxing and photocopying.
Support and / or lead continuous improvement initiatives.
Conduct all work duties as per the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations, the health, safety & environmental policies and Quality policies as established.
Perform any other reasonable assignments given by the Department Management or his / her designates.
Bachelor or College diploma in Accounting / Finance / Business.
Good understanding of accounting principles & account reconciliation.
Five or more years of Accounts Payable or Accounting hands-on related experiences, preferably in a multi-plant and high-volume manufacturing environment with at least 2 years in a leader role.
Good English communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to communicate effectively, having a positive attitude and being a real team player.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees of organization.
Solid computer skills with good working knowledge of Excel and Word Intermediate level.
Previous experience with ERP-s (i.e. Mapics / AS400 or similar) intermediate level is considered a large asset
Good organizational & problem-solving skills.
Ability to multi-task & manage in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Availability for overtime during month end and year end closing process.
