We are seeking a Registered Respiratory Therapist to work in all areas and support all services of the Operating Room and Post Anaesthetic Care Unit.
This position includes being on call after hours to support the cardiac operating rooms
Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of Anaesthesiology, basic hemodynamic principles and Anaesthesia equipment to be operated
Multi-service Operating Room experience within the last five (5) years is preferred
Minimum two (2) years recent critical care experience an asset
Demonstrated competence in arterial line insertion required
Demonstrates excellence in communication, both written and verbal
Demonstrates willingness to work in an inter-professional environment
Commitment to inter-professional teaching and learning
Analysis / problem assessment
Innovative and willing to learn
Commitment to customer service and teamwork
Demonstrates individual leadership skills
RRT registered with the College of Respiratory Therapists in the General Class
Practice according to the standards and guidelines set out by the College
Registered Respiratory Therapist
Registered with the C.R.T.O.
Participates in the CRTO’s Quality Assurance Program

Provides invasive and non-invasive ventilation, in collaboration with the health care team
Performs arterial blood gases and arterial line insertions
Performs respiratory assessments and respiratory monitoring
Performs ventilator management and advanced airway management
Performs intubation, extubation, and oxygen therapy
Monitor and set up of cardio respiratory equipment
Other clinical / technical duties in the operating room as assigned
