The RBD Operator will operate equipment used in the installation of Underground Utilities. The Operators are responsible for the safe operation and basic maintenance of the organization's Radial Boom Derrick (RBD).
Duties & Responsibilities
Safely operate the boom truck in the installation of Underground Utilities
Operate boom truck in residential areas
Responsible for the safe operation and basic maintenance of the organization's equipment
Read and interpret stakes, and signage
Coordinate and organize daily activities of equipment with drivers and operators
Performing and logging pre-operation safety inspections for fueling and greasing the equipment in order to maintain safe and optimal operation.
General labour duties as required
Self-directed and self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision or as part of a team

High School diploma
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
2-5 years' experience working in the construction industry operating a Radial Boom Derrick (RBD)
Experience operating a backhoe
SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Class 1 or 3 License
Possess a valid, Alberta Drivers' License and a clean driving abstract
Construction Safety Certifications including the following are considered assets.
Ground Disturbance Certification
Confined Space Awareness / Rescue
