General Description :
Based in Toronto, the Environmental Performance Manager will report to the Director of Environmental Performance supporting and leading environmental governance, reporting, and technical support to our global mining operations.
The Manager will work as part of the corporate team to advance environmental compliance with Lundin Mining Responsible Mining Policy.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide support on annual external reporting e.g., Sustainability Report and CDP (Climate Change, Forestry) and ESG disclosures, assist the collection of GRI-compliant data (or equivalent), external assurance support and report design, coordinating consultants, as well as site and corporate functional leads.
Analyze company-wide sustainability data and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to provide senior management with relevant analysis and recommendations on sustainability programs and reporting frameworks e.
g., GRI, SASB, CDP, TCFD.
Participate in the assessment of the Responsible Mining Management System to ensure company policies, procedures and standards are maintained and support the roll-out and update of Environmental Technical Standards.
Support the implementation of the Sustainability Strategy and associated initiatives.
Support development of internal reports (monthly and quarterly environmental reporting).
Assist with Materiality Assessment updates, to support the Sustainability Strategy and reporting.
Collaborate with corporate environmental and social performance team on all environmental aspects and strategic permitting initiatives.
Support development and management of climate change-related initiatives at all operations including scenario analysis, net-zero and KPI management.
Monitor and report on global environmental regulations trends and participate in relevant industry association.
Provide strong environment corporate resource support to operations, exploration, project and corporate teams to manage environmental operational issues, impacts and risks.
Establish and maintain positive supportive working relationships with relevant operational and corporate staff.
Required Skills and Competencies :
Minimum Bachelor-level degree from an accredited University, environment or science-related discipline.
8 10 years’ experience working in the mining industry with a strong understanding of environmental, social and governance issues.
Proficiency in Portuguese and / or Spanish.
Knowledge of permitting and compliance in the mining industry.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of management and mitigation of climate change-related risks and opportunities.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with other disciplines to deliver successful outcomes on complicated issues.
Willing to travel to global operations, work in diverse cultures and understand international business environments.
Strong project management skills.
Experience with GRI, CDP, SASB, TCFD and other ESG reporting frameworks desirable.
