Lifelong learning, leadership and personal growth opportunities for adults 50+.
The LIFE Institute delivers high quality educational programs for older adults covering a wide variety of subjects in the Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Technology and Contemporary Issues.
class participants may also be asked to research and present a topic.
We also offer "Lecture Courses", which are given by a professor or acknowledged expert in the field. Lecture Courses usually include a question and answer period, some discussion and may include a reading list.
Call for Volunteer Instructors
Share your knowledge and expertise
We are in high need of volunteer instructors who have a passion for a subject or would like to share their expertise or individuals who have experience running workshops or courses.
You may share your knowledge on a wide variety of subjects in the Arts, Humanities, Sciences, Technology and Contemporary Issues.
Instructors are responsible for developing the course including research, providing reading materials, presentation, and delivery.
Courses can be delivered in a variety of formats, Lecture with some Q&A, Lecture with some discussion, Discussion (facilitated course), Interactive / hands-on (such as painting, memoir writing, etc.
and courses can include guest speakers.
We are looking for individuals with an interest in sharing their enthusiasm for their field of excellence with older adults.
To assist you, we have available an Instructor Coaching and Mentoring Program and are presently developing an Instructor Training Program which will be available in the new year and is free for anyone wanting to become an instructor or looking to improve their present instructor skill sets.
Interested instructors are asked to submit a maximum two-paragraph outline of a prospective course and a short bio. Instructors should be able to teach their course in an online and in-class format for our members.
