InSync Systems Inc. is a privately-owned boutique Canadian Resourcing and Consulting Services Company that works closely with a range of corporate clients across multiple industries to bring them solutions that effectively address their business needs.

Our client is looking for a Back Up & Storage Analyst for a 6 months contract position in Calgary, AB. The role has a high possibility of extension or turn into permanent.

Starts in April. Key Responsibilities :

Key Responsibilities :

  • Maps out and defines a storage, backup, and recovery solution for a complex project in the banking industry
  • Works with the networking and architecture teams to deliver a high-availability, replicated and expandable storage solution
  • Works with the Cybersecurity team to implement tools and protocols to maintain cutover and financial data at the highest security levels and protect against new and evolving threats
  • Develops plans for future growth with client teams, and ensures there is engagement from upper management in growth plans
  • Maintains on-premise and cloud SAN devices and arrays so they are running in optimal fashion
  • Understands, interprets and documents technical specifications of the environment in its current and future states
  • Requirements :

  • A degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or related field
  • Must have 5-10 years of managing storage environments for large firms, with broad geographic distribution
  • Must have experience in backup, restore, and disaster recovery technologies and data centre best practices
  • Must have expert-level knowledge of server virtualization and managing a virtualized farm
  • Must have experience with hybrid on-prem and cloud storage solutions
  • Experience with IBM B7000, IBM B5000, Azure, and Quantum storage solutions is highly desirable
  • Experience with Windows Server 2016, MS SQL Server, RHEL, AIX and IBM P-Series hardware is highly desirable
  • Experience with vendor management and hardware procurement is highly desirable
  • Experience with SOX data protocols and cybersecurity is highly desirable
  • Must be a flexible team player, strong communicator and be able to work in a collaborative environment
