Your role :
Reporting to the Category Director, the Category Manager, Pro Merchandising is responsible for for managing the Pro strategic portfolio of its product categories for all banners.
This implies, in partnership with category managers, he ensures the selection of suppliers, products in addition to strategic negotiation.
Acts as a product specialist in its categories and has the mandate to support business units in achieving the common objectives of the company.
Your role specifically :
Manage the PRO strategy of business units across categories, including supplier selection, trade agreement negotiation, product selection, cost and volume discount management;
Manage the multi-banner product hierarchy for assigned products. Participate in the category review process.
A comprehensive understanding of market trends and pro needs inherent in its categories;
Track and achieve financial goals set by senior management in relation to the products assigned to it. Provide new opportunities and strategies for business units to increase the company's overall results;
To maximize communication with suppliers, with Pros teams in the field and with the Institutional, Commercial and Industrial market Team.
Work closely with the merchandisers of each banner to ensure that the needs of their target customers are met while ensuring appropriate expertise;
Visit our network of stores and the competition on a regular basis to be aware of the product offering and their impact on business units.
Your profile :
University degree related to the position
5 to 8 years of experience in retail and 4 years of experience in home improvement "Pro"
Good knowledge of products from the target category (an asset)
Spoken and written bilingualism (French and English)
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent negotiation skills
Creativity and innovation
Ability to work in a changing environment and under pressure
Ability to meet deadlines
