Director, Audit (IT)

Provide strategic leadership towards the development of the strategic direction and priorities of the Risk & Audit division

Remain current on OLG’s evolving strategic direction, business and shared service operations and related risk profiles to best contribute to setting the strategic direction and priorities of the Risk & Audit team

Contribute to the ongoing business planning for the Audit department and management of the fiscal budget to track progress against the Risk & Audit strategic plan

Provide specialized expertise to the audit team to ensure business risks are managed appropriately, that the system of internal control is efficiently operating and to continually improve practices to keep up with evolving business needs

Oversee and develop the Annual Audit Plan, provide feedback on the Annual Risk Plan, and identify areas of internal and external stakeholder operations requiring in-

depth review and assessment

Manage allocation of audit resources within the assigned portfolio and assign staff to projects based on availability and skill-

set in order to best meet business needs

Oversee all steps of the audit project lifecycle and manage audit team to effectively provide risk and control expertise to the business and to identify improvement opportunities to controls and operational processes

Establish project objectives, develop work plans, track management action plans and review working papers to ensure effective implementation of resources

Provide periodic summary reports to management, executive and board members on systems of internal controls, significant audit findings, investigations and fraudulent activity

Support the development and maintenance of the audit frameworks, methodologies and processes for the Risk & Audit division to ensure alignment with OLG’s broader strategies and priorities

Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, development and performance management of audit staff to foster a high-performing work environment focused on continual improvement

Lead recruitment and retention of audit staff in assigned portfolio to maintain appropriate staffing levels required for current and future project needs

University degree or college diploma in business management or related field

Professional designation in a related field (CA, CPA, CMA, CGA, CIA, CISA)

Thorough understanding of comprehensive auditing practices, processes, standards, techniques, procedures, principles, theory and standards

Understanding of OLG and service provider business environments in terms of risk and audit strategies

Project management experience is preferred

Strong people management and relationship management skills
