Safe Software is looking for a fun-loving, talented Marketing Communications Manager who is interested in becoming part of one of the fastest growing data integration companies in the world! As a Marketing Communications Manager, you will be responsible for internal and external marketing communications, developing PR strategies and manage outbound communications to drive sales and lead generation.

You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally with other departments including the Customer Experience & Sales, Marketing and People & Culture teams.

Safe Software was founded in Vancouver, BC in 1993 by two people and a dream to unleash the power of data. From this vision, FME (Feature Manipulation Engine) was born.

FME is the integration platform with the best support for spatial data and the tool that organizations can employ to transform their data in limitless ways.

Our software allows anyone to move and share their data to create useful workflows in a simple drag-and-drop format. Whatever the type of data be it sensors, maps, building models, imagery, databases, social media, web services, and more FME is up for the task.

About the Team

The Business Development Division is comprised of Sales, Marketing and enablement professionals who work together to help drive the business strategy across Safe Software and into the marketplace.

Our division is made up of multiple core teams who are responsible for the development, execution and operations of marketing strategy and programs, customer enablement programs (including training, education, etc) and channel (partner) programs which will help drive the company forward into new markets.

What You’ll Be Doing

As the Marketing Communications Manager, you will have the opportunity to :

  • Collaborate with functional leaders to ensure messaging is aligned across departments and divisions, including Customer Engagement / Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, People & Culture, etc.
  • Create and manage the marketing communications plan to support internal and external initiatives. The marcom planning calendar is a key tool for transparency and visibility across the many stakeholders and for creating a cohesive message across the organization, our customers and partners.
  • Lead a team of communications support staff to fulfill and execute the plans outlined in the marcom planning calendar and duties listed below.
  • Create and maintain marketing materials. This may include updating or maintaining existing materials or creating new collateral in line with corporate branding guidelines.
  • Oversee and assist with the coordination of marcom support for Sales, Product Marketing, Public Relations, People & Culture and Events activities.
  • Conduct copywriting and editing for web, social media, newsletters and various communications as needed.
  • Coordinate with the Events team to support the FME World Tour with email campaigns, blog posts, advertisements, graphics and live stream / video content.
  • The FME World Tour is an international event organized each year to engage with our FME users and showcase the new features in our most recent release of FME.

    World Tour sessions are hosted in cities around the world from the Americas, Europe / Middle East and Asia Pacific over the span of three months.)

  • Manage public relations and communication planning for Safe’s office / facilities move.
  • Assist with ad hoc marcom projects as required.
  • Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Business (Marketing), Communications or related field, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • 3-5 years of progressive Marketing experience, preferably in a high-tech organization.
  • Previous experience with leading a team and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders is preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills you have excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent time management skills you are able to juggle multiple projects and prioritize your time effectively.
  • A team player you are able to work independently as well as in a team.
  • A self-starter you are able to set schedules, manage deadlines and risks to deliver on assigned projects.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment and dynamic environment you are not afraid of fast-paced change!
  • Excellent planning and time management skills.
  • A proven track record of successfully executing and delivering results in marcom strategic planning.
