We are looking for dynamic, self-motivated, highly organized, driven and experienced Administrative Assistants / Executive Assistants to support the Senate Administration or Senators’ Offices or in managing and prioritizing competing demands in a fast-paced, results-focused environment.

Your passion for excellence and quality service must be second to none. Successful incumbents will bring expertise in a broad range of administrative areas and must possess a strong ability to communicate effectively across numerous channels, demonstrate a high level of autonomy, and show high effectiveness in managing a variety of tasks and offering assistance to the public or other team members as required.

Open to

The general public to staff anticipatory permanent and / or temporary positions in the Senate Administration or Senators’ Offices.

This selection process may be used to staff other similar positions in the future.

Prerequisites

  • Post-secondary education in business administration or a related field or a combination of education, and related work experience;
  • Minimum three (3) years’ experience providing administrative support in an office environment, offering services such as writing formal correspondence, briefing materials and reports, formatting documents, organizing and scheduling meetings and managing electronic filing systems;
  • Solid experience with MS Office products;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both official languages and ability to work independently as well as build relationships across the organization;
  • Detail oriented, well organized, and able to coordinate and multi-task competing priorities and timelines;
  • Strong research, analytical and communications skills as they relate to policy review and legislative rules and procedures;
  • Experience coordinating travel arrangements and monitoring expenditures and / or budget tracking is considered an asset;
  • Significant experience and aptitude working with all social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc.) is considered an asset;
  • Experience working in a security environment is considered an asset.
