  • Formulation of client-centered action plan including crisis response,
  • agency response, referrals and regular follow-up;
  • Ongoing supportive counselling;
  • Collaboration with diverse internal professionals;
  • Coordination and advocacy with other services and networks;
  • Consultation with other external professionals and systems;
  • Facilitation of activity groups, when appropriate
  • Identification of trends in requests and community needs;
  • Fulfillment of all administrative and data requirements;
  • Presentation of cases on internal and external committees;
  • Serve on agency departmental, interdepartmental, intra-agency committees.
  • Provide supervision for student internships when needed
  • Masters degree in Social Work, Counselling Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing or other professional equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth and young adults (14-35 yo);
  • Good knowledge of mental health, substance abuse, homelessness and / or trauma
  • Knowledge of systems approach as it relates to social service process and a demonstrated ability to apply systems theory to practice
  • Broad knowledge of clinical practice models
  • Experience with Trauma Informed Practice, an asset
  • Concrete experience with the Montreal social service network;
  • Fluent bilingualism in both official languages; written and spoken;
  • Knowledge of Jewish Community

    JOB SUMMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scheduling of caseload;
  • Psycho-social assessment of clients including screening interviews;
  • Conceptualize reason for the referral within one of the four theoretical frameworks;
  • Establish an alliance with clients;
  • Define appropriate goals with clients / planning;
  • Collaborate with internal and external services and networks;
  • Participate actively in supervision;
  • Fulfill all administrative and data requirements;
  • Attend team meetings regularly;
  • Maintain professional development.
  • Professional graduate degree in counselling, psychology, social work, education or other professional equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in couple and family counselling
  • Completion of Couple and Family Therapy Program is considered an asset
  • Background in creative arts therapy is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of social service network
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Knowledge of government programmes and services;
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both official languages
  • Effective under pressure
  • Proficient computer skills : MS Office and internet database
  • Active membership in OPQ as a psychotherapist
  • This position requires the selected applicant to undergo a vulnerable sector police check. JOB SUMMARY

  • DEC / AEC in technical assistance or equivalent.
