ClearWater Energy is looking for you. As a Maintenance / Turnaround Manager, reporting directly to the Director, you will work with operations to ensure that planning, executing and finalizing projects according to strict deadlines and within budget.

  • The Maintenance Manager will also define objectives. He / she will ensure work execution success by adhering to HSE, quality, schedule and cost;
  • oversee and be accountable for all duties. This is an active leadership role within ClearWater that is required to provide direction mentoring to the maintenance team and to represent ClearWater as a leader in energy and industrial markets.

    What You Do :

  • Provide leadership that results in a safe work culture. Promote a safe and responsible worksite, and ensure that the employees are aware of our commitment to our Client.
  • Work proactively with workers to eliminate safety incident, task hazards and safety concerns.

  • Ensure employees are involved in hazard identification and near miss reporting. Assist the Superintendent to conduct safety incident investigations when required.
  • Conducting periodic field inspections to ensure work is progressing in an efficient manner and in compliance with the Site Safety Management Plan.

  • Ensure the project team adheres to the quality assurance and quality control guidelines. Direct and manage maintenance development from beginning to end.
  • Define maintenance scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.

  • Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve maintenance goals. Participate and submit operational budget, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
  • Monitor maintenance activities, ensuring compliance to all ClearWater and stakeholder’s safety and policy and procedure guidelines.

  • Identify and manage maintenance dependencies and critical paths. Proactively manage changes in maintenance scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans adhering to strict change management control.
  • Ensure maintenance success through political sensitivity and communication.

  • Provide management and leadership to ClearWater Superintendents, General Foremen, Foreman Trades and direct field labor.
  • Comply with ClearWater / Client policies, guidelines and procedures. Build a strong, cooperative relationship within the work groups.

  • Provide and deliver all outage planning and execution deliverables as per the turnaround manual. Attend scope review meetings, reviewing the plan / schedule ahead of time and providing input accordingly.
  • Support pre shutdown field activities as required.
  • Determine and assess need for additional staff. Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the maintenance team, analyze results and troubleshoot problem areas.
  • Conduct post mortems and create a recommendations report in order to identify successful and unsuccessful maintenance elements.

    Utilize and develop best practices for maintenance execution and management. Utilize associated communications documents.

  • Experience :
  • A minimum of 10 year progressive business experience leading up to a Site Manager / Maintenance Manager role.
  • Experience working with operating facilities.
  • Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
  • Verifiable track record of business development / contract growth.
