Reporting to the Manager of Community Operations, this position is responsible for Addressing all plumbing issue in homes on Reserve.

The incumbent will be required to install and repair pipes that supply water and gas to, as well as carry waste away from, homes and Reserve.

Typical Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Performs duties of a receptionist.
  • Receives all incoming job requests.
  • Processes all incoming correspondence and messages according to policy.
  • Provides administrative support and issues purchase orders within the defined parameters.
  • Maintains records and files.
  • Makes information requests on behalf of department.
  • Contributes cooperatively to the Squamish Nation Nexwsp’áyaḵen ta Úxuwmixw Community Operations team to achieve position and department goals.
  • Education, Level of Experience & Hiring Requirements :

  • Certificate specializing in Office Management or Administration from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • 0 6 months of directly related experience in the majority of specialties listed in the job description including office administration, form and letter writing, reception and word processing
  • As career progresses, incumbent will be required to successfully complete job-required, short-term upgrading, training and courses relating to computer software applications, switchboard operation, document control, office equipment, etc.
  • Experience working in a First Nations Community environment is preferred.

  • Experience as an intermediate user of the Internet and Microsoft Office Applications Outlook (Email), Word, Excel, etc.
  • Working experience with a large-scale computerized database system. Experience with JD Edwards is an
  • Must have a valid BC Driver’s License Class 4 or 5, Class 7N may be considered.
  • Must provide a Criminal Records Check with a vulnerable sector search as per Squamish Nation Policy.

    Starting Salary : $35,738 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits program.
