You will be responsible for :

  • Sourcing and procuring new transport carriers and 3rd party service providers to support SOF transport operations.
  • Conducting regular contract negotiations through the development and analysis of transportation bids for retail service lanes.
  • Evaluating network and logistical change requirements to support strategic and tactical plans for new store onboarding and network development.
  • Coordinating with network design, scheduling & outbounds team to facilitate change management and implementation requirements.
  • Managing the SOF Fleet requirements for the distribution network including supply requirements, acquisition, licensing and insurance, and repair & maintenance of fleet.
  • Providing strategic support in the development of Inbound carrier supply capacity and market analysis.
  • Supporting and advising Inbound Analyst team on carrier negotiations, market reviews, new carrier onboarding, and carrier management requirements.
  • Assisting in budgeting analysis for overall Outbound transport spend, and related cost components (R&M, Shunting, Fuel).
  • Supporting the Outbound load planning team in carrier management, as well as fleet and service requirements.
  • You have :

  • Extensive understanding of carrier operations, negotiation, pricing, and network service, along with an above average understanding of fleet operations and equipment needs.
  • 8+ years of Supply Chain Management experience with an in-depth working knowledge of SC Management and Operations and the application of business solutions, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Experience negotiating with several years of experience in negotiating carrier contracts.
  • 3+ years of Fleet management.
  • 2+ years of Profit & Loss experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of and experience with TMS applications; Asset management applications; Transport tracking applications.
  • Excellent understanding and implementation of transport and fleet related KPI’s.
  • Understanding of Canadian Geography.

    This position is based at Save-On-Foods’ Langley office and the successful candidate is expected to work in person at the office.
