About the Position :
The Department of Biology at Carleton University invites applications from qualified candidates for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Qualified applicants are expected to have an exceptional record of research accomplishment within the discipline of Cellular and Molecular Biology.
Researchers taking systems-based approaches are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will be expected to develop a sustained externally funded research program.
Applicants must be able to teach core undergraduate courses and successful candidates will be expected to develop graduate and undergraduate courses in their area of specialization.
Qualifications :
The successful candidate will have a Ph.D., postdoctoral experience, demonstrated research excellence and a commitment to teaching and mentoring of undergraduate and graduate-level students.
In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to develop an externally funded Cellular and Molecular Biology research program where they will mentor undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows.
Applicants with the ability to forge collaborations with members of the Department of Biology and other Departments across Campus, as well as with allied government agencies, will be given preference.
