Performance Expectations

  • Provide monthly and yearly comparative financial information for planning and continuous improvements.
  • Develop and maintain cost and profit estimates for new and existing product lines and generate monthly cost reports and trends.
  • Maintain and make recommendations for an adequate information system measuring financial and operational results of the plant.
  • Work closely with management in directing and controlling resources.
  • Maintain and make recommendations regarding a system of internal control.
  • Ensure that all positions reporting to the Accounting Supervisor are filled with the appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure company’s accounting computing needs including EDI are met on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensure statutory financial obligations including audit, tax and others are met.
  • Government filings are completed on a timely and efficient manner.
  • Available for special corporate assignments as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in the facility’s geographic location and :
  • ISO 14001 : Environmental Management system standard.
  • ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Other duties assigned as needed.
  • Credentials

  • Post-Secondary Education in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
  • CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years experience in related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience considered an asset.
  • Ability to interpret tables graphs with financial variables to keep track of financial data.
  • Ability to forecast revenue amounts and analyze cost of goods and services.
  • Ability to identify training needs and train workers in job duties and company policies.
  • Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of applicable software programs.
  • Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrate good presentation skills presenting financial information to appropriate personnel.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact with accountants and other co-workers.
  • Engage in discussions with colleagues and co-workers and by reading legislation and international standards, accounting books, professional journals and articles in publications such as the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants' newsletters.
