The IT Security Engineer is primarily responsible for the delivery of security operations for CompuVision's Managed IT Services clients.

You are accountable to design, document, build, operate, and measure cyber security practices for the organization and our clients.

The IT Security Engineer will keep abreast of current security best practices, and will analyze sites and documentation to make recommendations, remediate issues and maintain continual improvement of our security initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • You must be aware of and maintain our standards.

  • Continually develop and improve upon organizational cyber security practices and programs.
  • Provide input and communicate with other teams on issues, strategies, plans, and direction, as required.
  • Perform intrusion analysis using SIEM & EDR technology, packet captures, reports, data visualization, log analysis and pattern analysis.
  • Performing assurance work (audits / reviews), business risk assessments, and vulnerability assessments.
  • Conducting staff and client training sessions.
  • First responder to security event escalations via email, monitoring & event tickets
  • Detect, escalate, and assist in remediation of critical information security incidents.
  • Document and communicate findings, escalate critical incidents, and interact with customers
  • Improve and challenge existing processes and procedures in a very agile and fast-moving information security environment.
  • Oversee security related initiatives and programs such as information classification, change management, access management, security perimeter, physical security, ports / services management, patch management, incident response, disaster recovery, audit, and other applicable activities.
  • Corporate communication monitoring (email, MS Teams, etc.)
  • Maintains current knowledge of information security policies and goals
  • Keeps current on the current IT threat landscape and upcoming trends in security
  • Other duties that are assigned
  • Education Requirements, Skills, and Knowledge

  • At least 5 years' experience of a technically focused security role across a range of technologies :
  • Related Security Certification or Degree, such as : CEH, CISM, CISSP, CISA
  • Broad technical understanding across Information Security (e.g. Incident Response, Intrusion, Attack Monitoring, Networks, Threat and Vulnerability Management).
  • Firewalls including IPS / IDS, DLP, Anti-Virus, Identity Awareness, URL Filtering
  • Strong hands on SIEM Tool configuration & management experience such as Perch or Splunk
  • Knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST and MITRE.
  • Experience with Next Gen Antivirus and EDR technologies
  • Tools like Nmap, Nessus, and Wireshark and capturing, reading and analysing PCAPs.
  • Experience of configuration & management of Email Filtering technologies
  • Enterprise Desktop and Server Anti-Virus
  • Microsoft Windows Server / VMWare vSphere and associated technologies.
  • Operational experience of PCI DSS
  • LAN & WAN networking using routers, switches, and infrastructure products.
  • Strong understanding of TCP / IP
  • System Center and Configuration Manager
  • Active Directory, GPO Configuration
  • Endpoint protection technologies
  • Exposure to Linux with basic administration skills
  • Ability to write scripts in Linux and / or windows environments (e.g. PowerShell) at an intermediate - advanced level
  • Extensive background in and understanding of Information and Cyber Security, with experience of working in Information Security role ideally within financial services organisation.
