Reporting to the Branch Manager, this motivated self-starter will hold a key developmental position with the goal of understanding various branch operational functions throughout service and parts.

Through rotations in various departments, and project related work in each functional division, the successful incumbent of this role will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be a successful contributing member to the Service Operations team at Finning.

  • This role will follow a structured operational strategy to further their experience and knowledge of key operational leadership roles through Parts, Service, and Product Support.
  • In each area of the business the Operations Intern will accomplish a defined body of work relative to training, shadowing, and executing day to day accountabilities of a variety of roles.

    This is intended to assist the Operations Intern with critical understanding of the business, as well as benefit the respective branch or department

  • The scope of this program will also include time and training with strategic corporate departments that are critical to the success of operations and the leadership positions within them
  • Completing various internal training programs through LMS and other training platforms
  • Assisting with the service process through experiential learning
  • Work in unison with service and parts team members to maximize learnings and readiness for next service level roles (Customer Service Advisor, Service Supervisor, etc.)
  • Meet or exceed customer expectations
  • Increase overall customer satisfaction
  • Foster an environment of trust, collaboration, innovation and passionate communication within the service team and with our customers
  • Successfully complete the Finning Service Intern Sales Program
  • Be prepared to take on a Finning service department role (Customer Service Advisor or Service Supervisor) after 18 24 months and successful completion of the Service Intern Training Program at one of Finning (Canada)’s locations

  • Education & Experience :

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a recognized Journeyperson certificate in the accredited trades of Heavy Equipment Technician and / or Automotive.
  • 3 5 years of work experience in a customer service environment in a leadership capacity
  • Industry specific experience (internal to Finning or any other heavy equipment dealer), or automotive dealer experience will be considered an asset
  • Mechanical aptitude
