Home Technology Advisor

This role focuses on serving clients with their technology in their homes. You will be required to setup, support, test and service most technology, especially found in London Drugs' retail stores.

This includes but is not limited to audio video systems, computers, networking routers, printers, mobile devices, adaptive technologies and connected home devices.

Along with the technical servicing side, the role also focuses on education for the client.

Responsibilities include :

  • Install and setup all the equipment and wiring necessary for the functional operation of audio / video systems, according to all building safety standards.
  • Perform computer virus removals, data transfers and setups, troubleshoot software and hardware related issue and teach how to use the product.
  • Ensure that the audio / video wiring, brackets, and electronics are installed in a manner that will not cause any safety and legal liability issues with the client.
  • Perform pick-ups and deliveries pertaining to the service of technology equipment for London Drugs retail stores.
  • Work as a liaison between client and retail stores or ISP providers.
  • The successful candidate will have the following :

  • Excellent interpersonal skills when dealing with clients, staff, and management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • A strong commitment to produce the highest quality of workmanship, craftsmanship, and general client service.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for clients and team.
  • Desire to learn new technologies and to keep up with industry changes.
  • Experience in the AVS sector required.
  • Low Voltage Certification an asset. Certification training provided.
  • A+ Certification or equivalent work related experience.
  • Apple Certification would be beneficial. Certification training available.
  • In depth knowledge of computer products, peripheral devices and computer technologies.
  • A strong knowledge of audio / video equipment, wiring and set-up.
  • A strong knowledge in current technologies and their functions overall.
  • Experience in electrical systems installations recommended. Certification training available.
  • A strong knowledge in the use of standard and power tools.
  • Will be required to take training and complete certifications as required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license. (Vehicle will be provided)
  • Employees will be scheduled 40 hours per week and will typically work Monday to Sunday with some evenings due to customer’s work schedules.
