Senior Finance Analyst, Procurement

Job Summary :

The Senior Finance Analyst is responsible for supporting the Sr. Director, Finance and the Procurement functional leads with all relevant cost, variance, and analytics to help manage and make forward-looking procurement decisions for the North America region.

The Senior Financial Analyst will focus on the development and implementation of key performance indicators and reporting to identify opportunities to manage costs and implement best practices.

This individual will also be accountable for providing financial oversight and financial management of the SCA (sustainable cost advantage) program for the procurement team.

  • The Senior Finance Analyst will have strong financial analysis and accounting skills. Responsibilities will include partnering with procurement functional leads, helping provide financial oversight to forward manage the business;
  • include the assembly and analysis of financial data supporting the planning and decision-making processes that ensure profitability and sustainability of McCain Foods.

    This position identifies opportunities and risks and compares results to relative benchmarks. This position works collaboratively with others, institutes best practices, and challenges the acceptance of status quo demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement.

    Duties & Responsibilities :

    Reporting :

  • Understanding and explaining key drivers of monthly variances from procurement function.
  • Compiling quarterly forecasts and budgets for the procurement function.
  • Reviewing monthly results and forecasts with procurement function to provide finance leadership
  • Other :

  • Thought partner to procurement team
  • Finance lead for Procurement SCA program; understanding all cost-savings projects
  • Partnering with each procurement project owner to understand how project is driving savings
  • Tracking and ensuring cost savings are achieved
  • Education / Experience :

  • Minimum 5+ years experience in financial analysis, financial planning, accounting, and / or supply chain is required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Accounting, Finance or Supply Chain.
  • Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office. Prior experience working with relational databases and report writers desirable.
  • Prior experience working with tight deadlines and demonstrated responsibility for accuracy and timeliness for work performed.
  • Strong written, verbal communication and presentation skills. Must be able to convey information to all levels of the organization in a clear, focused, and concise manner.
  • Experience with CPG or other food manufacturing companies strongly preferred.
  • Must be a self-starter with ability to manage responsibilities proactively.
