Reporting to the Finance Manager, Reporting, as an Accountant, you would be joining a dynamic, fast paced financial reporting team.

  • Accountabilities

  • Prepare bank reconciliations, must have experience in preparing complex, high volume bank reconciliations using excel.
  • Prepare commissions and bonus payouts based on different sales incentive structures and programs.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements, supporting schedules, and other reporting requirements.
  • Support and assists in the month end closing procedure necessary for preparation of financial information
  • Work on accounting for acquisitions, hands on involvement in the monthly accounting and reconciliations
  • Prepare various regulatory and government reporting (RIBO, GST&HST, sales taxes, quarterly surveys etc.)
  • Reconciling sub-ledger accounts
  • Prepare and validate earnings statements, new business commissions and various bonus programs
  • Complete other tasks as assigned and other ad-hoc reporting and accounting projects as required
  • Qualifications

  • Business degree with a focus in accounting and a minimum 2 years related experience
  • Advanced excel skills (Math & trig, statistical, look up and references and logical formulas)
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and be a self-starter
  • Work well under pressure with multiple and conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to work well with and assist others
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong problem solving, organizational, time management, prioritizing and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Insurance industry experience an asset
