Position Overview :

CIBC Mellon, a Canadian leader in asset servicing, is seeking a dynamic addition to its Business Development Communications team.

In this fast-paced environment, the Communications Specialist will bring strengths in both written and interpersonal communication as well as in project coordination.

Reporting to the Director, Business Development Communications, the incumbent will primarily contribute to the creation and delivery of written responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs) and Request for Information (RFI’s) bringing a strong operational focus to the development of responses.

The Specialist will also interact with CIBC Mellon management and with colleagues at the company’s parent company BNY Mellon.

Responsibilities :

  • Active participation in the preparation and completion of proposals such as, RFPs, DDQs and RFIs, ensuring quality and completeness with compelling answers and delivering in a timely manner
  • Proactive project management of assigned duties in the preparation of response documents through discussions with business unit representatives, internal management and BNY Mellon representatives, as required, obtaining relevant information from these sources via consulting probing, reviewing and interpreting operational proposal materials
  • Enhance the written content in responses by grasping the intended meaning of specific technical and operational concepts through attending related meetings and by interpreting raw proposal material to ensure its accuracy and relevancy
  • Assist and participate in the maintenance of an up-to-date database of information with business units to ensure updated information that accurately reflects our client segments
  • Maintain skills through appropriate training, interaction with business units and through periodic reviews of proposals material
  • Engage in positive communication and relationships with sales, relationship management, product managers and business units to foster cooperation and a positive working environment
  • Demonstrate awareness of corporate strategies and develop proposals which reflect our market position, brand style and corporate vision
  • Builds strong relationships with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the firm in order to seek out and promote compelling content for proposal responses within each of our business segments
  • Collaborates with team members and subject matter experts to identify and share information that helps communicate our service and ensures up-
  • to-date information gathered from business units is captured, transferred and input our Content Database

    Qualifications :

  • University degree in business, communications, English or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 to 5 years related experience in corporate or financial services communications
  • Excellent written, verbal and visual document presentation skills
  • Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with individuals at senior levels
  • Excellent analytical skills to extract and synthesize relevant information
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing, PowerPoint, Excel, Visio and Access
  • Must be a strong team player and possess strong planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects using project management tools
