What is the opportunity?

You will be part of a development team within RBC Capital Markets Central Funding Group (CFG). CFG provides funding and liquidity management to the Bank as a whole.

The Canadian Mortgage Investment Group (CMIG) is an important part of the CFG business. CMIG is a leader in the Canadian mortgage aggregation, which involves purchasing Canadian residential mortgages from third-party mortgage originators and securitizing eligible mortgages into National Housing Act (NHA) Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS).

What will you do?

  • Development of Front Office Valuation / Risk / PnL software.
  • Support integration of a vendor based funding and portfolio management system (TAO Solutions, MortgageHUB).
  • Generate business reports from our large database.
  • Partner across IT and business groups including Front Office / traders to analyze and map business system issues and processes.
  • What do you need to succeed?

    Must Have :

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on software development experience in .NET / C# / ASP.NET MVC and SQL.
  • Experience in Excel / VBA; experience dealing with Windows Servers and Microsoft SQL Servers.
  • Strong desire to keep the code architecture clean and easily testable / readable / maintainable / updatable.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the finance or capital markets industries, with ideally understanding of Fixed Income principles (e.
  • g. cash flow modeling, yield curves, etc).

  • Familiar with JIRA / GitHub / Jenkins / Nexus.
  • Nice to have :

  • Understanding of Canadian mortgage environment, including mortgage-backed securities, Canada Mortgage Bonds products.
  • Experience in QA testing concepts and UFT Automation testing.
  • Experience with file formats / standards such as JSON, XSD, XML, SWIFT, FpML, CSV / PSV / TSV.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects with conflicting deadline
