Job Title : Lead Electrical Engineer

Location : Huntsville, ON

Summary of Position :

Kimberly-Clark Inc., Huntsville Mill is currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to fill an open position at our Huntsville Ontario tissue manufacturing facility.

The incumbent will be expected to initiate and lead electrical and controls systems optimization, problem solving and designing / installation of new or replacement equipment in a manner that meets safety and operational performance expectations.

Expertise across multiple technologies and demonstrated ability to effectively provide project work direction to a broad range of team members is an asset.

Essential Accountabilities :

  • Design and Development : Lead or support plant driven equipment and process improvement projects initiation, design, installation and optimization of manufacturing and supporting electrical, process control, and networking systems to achieve unit objectives.
  • Technical Knowledge : Develop knowledge and skills in application of engineering principles and / or scientific analysis to industrial processes.
  • Safety : Carry out job responsibilities in a safe manner. Develop equipment and processes that meet safety codes, policies and guidelines and promote safety and well-
  • being of mill personnel.

  • Security and Documentation : Provide guidance in security and documentation to ensure the retrieval of data and protection of proprietary information.
  • Document changes made using CAD and the K-C drawing management system (DRCS).

  • Problem Solving : Seek, recognize, define and solve problems / opportunities to achieve unit objectives. Lead or work with cross functional teams to develop and implement equipment / process improvement projects and / or solutions using both simple 4-
  • Step Problem Solving (4SPS) and complex (6-sigma) problem solving techniques.

  • Internal Control : Lead assigned projects / tasks to meet unit objectives within applicable corporate policies.
  • Communications : Communicate fully and clearly with superiors, peers and others who have a need to know.
  • Human Resources Development : Assist in the development of others in the area of incumbent's expertise, while demonstrating an understanding of those with a diverse background or experience.
  • Quality : Improve process capability to deliver a reduction in defects and variability. Identify, develop, and implement products, processes, materials, systems, and procedures to achieve business objectives.

  • Qualifications :

  • Candidates must possess an Engineering degree in Electrical or Mechatronics from an accredited college or university.
  • Familiar with industrial automation technology (PLC, HMI, DCS, servo systems, drives).
  • A demonstrated ability to lead small cross-functional projects to achieve intended results within required timeframes.
