Blake, Cassels & Graydon LLP (Blakes), one of Canada’s largest and most successful law firms, is currently looking for a Client Relations & Marketing Coordinator to join the Client Relations & Marketing department in the Vancouver office.

This position will report to the Director, Client Relations and Business Development and work closely with a small team of dynamic marketing professionals.

The Client Relations & Marketing Coordinator provides daily support to the Vancouver Client Relations and Marketing team on a wide range of activities, including covering all elements of event and seminar development and delivery with oversight from either the Director or Specialist.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Events and Seminars provides administrative support (planning, monitoring and follow-up; invitation management; and collateral delivery) for events.
  • Liaises with the Creative Services and Events teams as required to ensure production and execution requirements are met.

    Deals with supplier relationships, including booking catering. Provides on-site logistical support for events. Distributes tickets for events and coordinates Club Seats at Rogers Arena.

  • Work and Project Management works in collaboration with other team members to construct and monitor work plans and deliverables for the BD team.
  • Business Planning assists in preparing documents for meetings, recording and preparing minutes, and monitoring follow up items arising from meetings.
  • Research accountable for sourcing and summarizing information through multiple sources, including Capital IQ, internet, etc.
  • This involves working with the Business Intelligence team, providing required data for a variety of client or industry-focused initiatives, and producing standard reports for assigned groups.

  • Submissions coordinates the preparation of directory and ranking submissions, including information sourcing, data gathering and follow-up for submission materials.
  • May, in certain instances, draft submissions for Lawyer / BD Leadership review. Coordinates interviews with directories.

  • New Business RFP’s and Pitches supports the development of pitch documents by :
  • doing database searches (E.g, experience database)
  • preparing information packages (including bios, product sheets etc.)
  • Marketing Materials / Collateral drafts materials such as event invitations and handouts. Ongoing review and revision of both existing and new materials for assigned content / industry / practice areas, ensuring all collateral is up to date, including information related to contacts and rankings, practice descriptions, website content, brochures, etc.
  • Works with the Creative Services Team to develop and deliver updates or new collateral.

  • Business Development Budget assists in monitoring the annual budget, (specifically sponsorship), including review and reassignment of expenses, including coordination with other groups / initiatives.
  • Deals with supplier relationships, including paying invoices.

  • Sponsorships Assists in the planning, monitoring and execution of sponsorship and other association events.
  • Other support activities , as required by the Director, including the management of inventory of Blakes merchandise.
  • Qualifications :

    Education / Experience :

    Education Bachelors Degree or diploma in Business / Marketing or equivalent is preferred.

    Experience Minimum of 2-4 years BD / Marketing experience or similar role.

    Experience in professional services industry is an asset.
