Primary Accountability :
In support of the Stream-Flo Group of Companies, the Corporate Controller is responsible for working closely with the Chief Financial Officer to develop and provide senior management with information to support strategic operational decision making.
The Corporate Controller will identify best practices, recommend and implement financial and management reporting and cost controls, and manage the consolidation of all corporate entities.
The incumbent will interface with external auditors, manage the tax compliance of all legal entities, coordinate transfer pricing and oversee the preparation of year end audited financial statements.
This position offers significant complexity and challenge considering the international scope of the Stream-Flo Group of Companies and the breadth of operating entities.
Additional duties include :
Provide oversight and direction to division Controllers and Accounting Managers.
Develop financial package for submission to quarterly Board of Directors meeting. Attend meetings as required.
Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls.
Ensure financial reporting and filing comply with provincial, federal and international requirements.
Oversee the preparation of annual budgets, financial outlooks and forecasts.
Act as an Advisor to management.
Recommend benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating performance of divisions and departments.
Design and maintain effective organizational structure and staffing to accomplish the department's goals and objectives.
Preferred candidates will possess a combination of the following :
Professional accounting designation, (CA, CMA or CGA required).
Significant breadth of accounting experience with minimum of 5 years in a senior Finance role.
Strong knowledge and capability with complex, multi-company financial consolidation.
Strong knowledge of tax.
Experience in supporting a large manufacturing and / or oilfield services organization is a strong asset, including experience with standard costing.
Experience at the head office of an international company is an asset (multiple legal entities, currencies and banking arrangements).
Ability to respect and maintain confidentiality.
Experience with overseeing accounting and tax activities in jurisdictions outside of Canada is a strong asset.
Superior Excel skills are required. SAP experience is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
Detail oriented with demonstrated ability for accuracy.
Must enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Familiarity with ASPE, US GAAP, and IFRS is beneficial.
Requires strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to lead teams to produce quality results and meet deadlines.
