The National Manager has the coordinative and tactical lead from a HR and Performance & People perspective for certain department(s).

This responsibility touches each area of HR : Talent acquisition, Leaning & Development, Talent management, Compensation & Benefits and Administration & Systems.

This role reports into the National Director who has the overall strategic lead. Your Role The main areas of responsibility are : ensuring high performance in execution of services and HR best practices, employee and labour relations, ensure alignment with Company policies and processes, stakeholder management, continuous improvement, ensure compliance with Code of Conduct and employee engagement as ultimate KPI.

Act as conscience of the organization with responsible dept., and address in an assertive way concerns and escalate where required. Your Responsibilities

  • Perform HR Generalist function within area of responsibility with focus on each are of Human Resources;
  • Stakeholder management, especially focused on management levels, talents and internal HR;
  • Establish and maintain a positive and trusting relationship with employees;
  • Implement, coordinate and ensure consistent application of HR policies and best practices;
  • Ensure high level of service through consistent and correct application of processes;
  • Manage HR performance according to key HR KPIs;
  • Provide coaching and counseling to managers and employees on a wide range of HR matters to solve problems and develop appropriate solutions;
  • Partner with all levels of the organization to promote and ensure a positive workplace environment;
  • Analyze trends and metrics as they apply, use data and analysis to provide insight for decision making and provide appropriate interventions to achieve business goals and increase employee engagement, commitment and retention;
  • Have a strong understanding of the business strategies and performance, proactively engage in business planning where there is HR impact in order to align HR strategy with business objectives;
  • Manage all labour relations including bargaining, grievances, campaigns, etc. as required / applicable;
  • Provide day to day advice, counsel and guidance to ensure fair and consistent employment practices;
  • Achieve employee engagement and retention of talents are top of the jointly agenda for management and HR;
  • Participate in selection procedures for defined roles, four-eye principle and ensure great candidate experience;
  • Ensure high quality of PPR process, including focus on individual development for all employees and career progression based on potential.
  • Lead succession planning meetings and talent panels within area of responsibility, ensure close follow-up of development and engagement of identified talents / successors;
  • Ensure on boarding & training for new people managers, support managers in the development of their people related skills and identify low performing managers in regards to people skills;
  • Ensure compliance conditions are consistently met, including Code of Conduct training for employees;
  • Conduct investigations and recommend and / or develop resolutions to employee complaints or claims of unfair treatment, harassment and / or discrimination;
  • Manage employment related legal disputes and prepare legal defense strategy when required;
  • Support with workforce planning to ensure consistent application of internal policies, procedures and compliance with applicable legislation;
  • Lead and participate in HR projects as required;
  • Serve as back-up to HR Business Partners when necessary;
  • Other duties as may be assigned by the Company.
  • Your Skills and Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus 5+ years of experience in a strategic HR Business Partner role
  • Previous experience supporting business clients in a matrix environment
  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, written and verbal communication skills required in order to communicate and present across all levels within the organization
  • At least five years of experience in employee relations, with emphasis on employee and / or labor relations and human resources policy development
  • Ability to meet deadlines while working on multiple projects
  • Ability to travel frequently and on short notice
  • Experience with multiple locations & / or business units, dealing with a broad range of HR-related areas at senior levels of organization
  • PHR, SPHR, GPHR certification required
  • MA / MBA
