Key Responsibilities / Activities
Strategy & Planning
Outline a process for order execution from the time the order is received to the time the deliverables reach the customer.
Outline a process for defining and communicating to the sales team, customer expectations as well as deliverables for each order.
Communicate and make this information transparent to all of the key stake holders regularly and consistently.
Devise and publish key performance indicators for each function / department that are tied into the customer expectations.
Take ownership of coordinating all activities in order achieve all customer deliverables. Review current state and put in place effective tools that provide visibility to manufacturing workflow, order status and identify key milestones.
Develop business justifications for investments that improve workflow, reduce cost and develop our competencies.
Understand our markets and develop and execute effective counter measures to make us better, faster and keep us ahead of the competition.
Prepare and take ownership of operating cost budgets, which include personnel capacity planning and succession planning.
Monitor progress and hold accountable the various stakeholders in the value stream to ensure that all customer milestones are met.
This includes acknowledgment of orders, release of job package and drawings, manufacturing activities, shipment of product, completion of documentation, etc.
Document processes that are user friendly and add value to achieving the objective outlined above.
Motivate the team to make changes in structure and process and as needed, implement the vision and to achieve the objectives, goals and deliverables.
Create effective, motivated employees in each value stream.
Provide leadership and direction to key stakeholders. Create a culture of highly motivated, engaged and customer focused professionals.
Understand our customer needs, quality, speed to market, and delivery and provide a positive customer experience.
Lead continuous improvements of processes, tools, equipment and identify the people required.
Develop and steer strategy for supplier development in order to reduce cost, increase services and product improvements.
Leverage appropriate technology to improve our processes, elevate our communication and create a customer experience that exceeds expectations.
Create robust manufacturing process that are effective, consistent and reliable.
With input from the team, develop strategic planning tools and operational work flows that optimise efficiency and performance, providing Bosch Rexroth Canada with a competitive advantage in the market.
Collaborate with the team, as well as other departments to define goals and expectations that are aligned with overall business targets.
Put in place key performance indicators, monitoring tools and continuous improvement initiatives (CIP).
Implement applicable manufacturing practices (e.g. Lean Principles, Bosch Production Systems (BPS) and 5S).
Work collaboratively with the Quality Department to put in place robust processes that ensure quality and add value.
Work closely with Logistics functional area in a collaborative manner department to determine recommended inventory items and quantities to support sales growth objectives.
Establish and communicate the Company and Manufacturing vision targets and expectations.
Lead highly performing teams consisting of highly motivated professionals.
Deploy SMART performance goals and ensure accountability and achievement of these goals.
Foster an environment that enables high associate engagement and professional development.
Identify and continue to develop competencies that support Manufacturing processes and an agile workforce.
Demonstrate effective problem solving by resolving identified issues with root cause analysis (to avoid repeat issues or rework).
